Alvin Levene

Abbeville, LA- Funeral services for Mr. Alvin Levene, 71, who passed away at his home on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:37 AM, surrounded by family and friends, will be Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Faith Hope Christian Fellowship- 407 B.K. Stevens Drive; Abbeville, LA 70510 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held at 9:00AM until the time of services.

Alvin "Joe Riley" Levene was born on June 7, 1954 to George Levine, Sr. and Clothile Bessard Levine. Alvin worked as a Sand blaster for many years. He was a dedicated father, grandfather, brother, and friend. 

Alvin is survived by his wife: Victoria H. Levene; three (3) sons: Alvin G. (Ja'Nice)Levene, Tommy (Carla) Williams, and Joshua P. (Sheketha) Levene, Sr. ; three (3) daughters: Andrea Levine (T.J.) Darby, Tara Levene, and Angela Harrison Latson; two (2) brothers: Lester P Levene, Sr. and Micheal Levene; one (1) sister: Joyce Walker; two (2) special sons-inlaw: Renny Keal and Billy Latson; one (1) special nephew: Terry Jr.; one (1) special niece: Fallon Bessard, who called him "viking" and no matter what time of the day or night, they came; three (3) special friends: Bo Henderson, Colby Comeaux, and Barbara LeBlanc; He is also survived by thirty-one (31) grandchildren and twenty-five (25) great-grandchildren, whom he loved and adored (he always remembered exactly how many he had); a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents: George Sr. and Clothile Levine; one (1) daughter: Antonio D. August; one (1) grandson: Marlon August; his ex-wife: JeriDean August: seven (7) brothers: Doris Levine, Leroy Levine, Morris Levine, Louis Levine, Nelson Levine, George Levine Jr., and Melvine Levine; four (4) sisters: Georgia Mae Campbell, Nora Plowden, Alzora Darby, and Audrey Harrison.
