Collins LaSalle, Jr., beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on November 4, 2023. He was born on February 28, 1958, in Patterson, Louisiana to loving parents Collins Sr. and Dorothy Vilo LaSalle. Collins will forever be remembered for his kind-hearted nature and gentle spirit.

In his early years, Collins embarked on a career at Hydro Carbon of Patterson, where he worked as a talented welder. Later, he ventured into painting and carpentry work alongside his brother Patrick. Collins had a natural talent for working with his hands and found joy in bringing beauty to the world through his craftsmanship. His educational foundation was at Hattie A. Watts Elementary School. Additionally, Collins earned a welding diploma from Young Memorial Technical School on May 14, 1975. Those who knew Collins best will remember him for his likeable and quiet nature. He possessed a warm presence that resonated with anyone fortunate enough to cross paths with him. Outside of work, Collins enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. A good meal delighted him as he savored the flavors that brought joy to his palette. Adorned by an inquisitive mind, he found solace in reading books that transported him to different worlds of imagination. Nature television programs captivated him as he marveled at the wonders of the natural world unfolding before his eyes. Moreover, old time westerns held a special place in his heart as he reveled in their timeless tales of courage and perseverance. Amongst his favorite activities was riding his bike through the community, visiting family and friends along the way. These visits brought light into their lives as Collins shared laughter, treasured memories, and his unwavering support with those he cared deeply for.

Collins leaves behind cherished memories and a lifetime of love. He is survived by his two sisters, Karla Christine Blunt (Alexander Sr.) of New Orleans, LA and Paulette Rowe (Clyde) of Kansas City, MO; three brothers, Charles Brown LaSalle (Rose) of Patterson, LA, Carlton August LaSalle (Monica) of Aubrey, TX, and Patrick Maurice LaSalle (Joanne) of Patterson, LA; one uncle, Dr. Edward James Valeau (Vera) of Hayward, CA; one aunt, Diana Johnson of Patterson, LA; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.

His loved ones will gather not to mourn Collins’ passing, but to celebrate the beautiful life he lived. His gentle soul and genuine compassion will forever be etched in our hearts. May his memory be a guiding light as we navigate through life without him. Rest in peace, dear Collins LaSalle Jr., knowing that you are deeply loved and greatly missed by all who were privileged to know you.
