Janice Marie Jones, beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, passed away January 20, 2024, in Lafayette, Louisiana. Born on October 2, 1973, in Lafayette, Janice lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
To know Janice was to love her. She possessed a heart of gold that radiated warmth and kindness to all she encountered. Her infectious sense of humor brought joy to those who had the privilege of knowing her. Janice had an incredible ability to make people laugh and lifted spirits wherever she went. Her genuine interest in others and her gift for conversation left a lasting impression on the hearts of many.
Janice led a life enriched by her diverse interests and passions. She loved traveling and exploring new places, always eager to embark on exciting adventures. Whether it was trying out new cuisines or jamming to her favorite music, Janice embraced every moment with enthusiasm.
One of Janice's greatest joys in life was spending time with her cherished family and friends. They held a special place in her heart. Nothing brought her more happiness than gathering together for shared meals or engaging in lively conversations. Janice's warm presence ensured that every gathering was filled with laughter and love.
In addition to her love for companionship and adventure, Janice had a flair for personal style. She took great pride in doing her hair, nails, and lashes with utmost care. It was her way of expressing herself and embracing her individuality. Alongside this penchant for self-care, she found solace in reading the Bible and listening to the word of God—a source of comfort for her throughout life's ups and downs.
Janice leaves behind a network of loved ones whose lives were forever touched by her presence. She is survived by her mother DeeAnna Jones Vanderbilt; father Dr. Earl Washington Jr.; grandmother Lillian Cafertoria Vititoe-Vitto; godmother Jatina Vitto; son Dalmontae Raheem Jones; brothers Jason Jarmall Jones Sr., Lance Jones, and Herbert Vanderbilt Jr.; sisters Stephanie Marie Williams Jones and Ferederica Lynn Thomas; and sister Chantelle Marie Thomas.
The memory of Janice will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her radiant spirit, zest for life, and unwavering love for others will be cherished forever. As we gather to honor her remarkable life, a visitation will take place on January 27, 2024, starting at 12:00 PM. This will be followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at Fields Funeral Home located at 712 Center Street in New Iberia, Louisiana.
Janice Marie Jones was an extraordinary soul who brightened the lives of everyone she encountered. May her laughter echo in our memories and may her loving spirit guide us in our own journeys. She will forever be missed but never forgotten.
