Lafayette, Louisiana - A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Jimmy Menard, 71, who transitioned peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 9:22AM at his residence will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 11:00AM at Fields Funeral Home, 712 Center Street, New Iberia, LA 70560. Pastor Christopher Nelson, Officiating.

A visitation will be held at 10:00AM until the time of service.

He will await the resurrection at Rose Hill Cemetery, 944 W. Main Street, New Iberia, Louisiana 70560.

Jimmy Menard, born on August 9, 1952, in Brea Bridge, Louisiana, bid farewell to this world on June 12, 2024, in Lafayette, Louisiana to Clarence Menard and Alzena Jacques.

Jimmy will be fondly remembered for his love of watching football and his contagious laughter and ever-present smile. Many treasured memories were created while engaging in spirited debates about the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In mourning his loss is wife: Hester Menard; his loving children: Jimmy (Paula) Barnes, Rachien (Kissie) Menard, Alton (Gussie) Hall, Alias (James) Jeanlewis, Veronica Hall, Yvonne Hall, Demetric (Felton) Darby, Phillip Hall; brothers: Johnny Menard, Roy Moore, Clarence Menard Jr.; sisters: Ida Mae Mouton and Dianne Moore.; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his sons: Jimmy Menard, Jr. and Christopher Menard; his grand-sons: Courtland Hall and Coderry Hall, his brothers: Johnny Menard and Roy Moore, his mother: Alzena Jacque, his father: Clarence Menard, and his aunts: Bertha Jack, Elise Jack Brown, Anna Boudreaux and France Green.

Jimmy's presence will truly be missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace and may his spirit of laughter and joy live on in the hearts of those who loved him dearly.
