Gibson, LA-- The life of Ms. Joyce Marie Lewis-Williams ,76, will be celebrated on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 11:00AM at the New Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Houma, LA. Visitation will be held at 9:00AM until the time of services. Pastor Tom Scoby will be the eulogist. Joyce will wait the resurrection at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Gibson, LA.
Joyce Marie Lewis- Williams was born on June 5, 1948 to the union of James Lewis and Amanda Gray Lewis in Gibson, LA. She was a resident of Gibson, LA. Joyce transitioned on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at University Medical Center of New Orleans, LA at 6:20 PM surrounded by family.
Joyce leaves to cherish her life and memory, her three (3) sons: Steven (ShaTonya) Williams, Shawn (Raquel) Williams, Sedric Williams; two (2) daughters: September Williams, Shanelle Williams; two (2) brothers: John W. Lewis, Bradley W. Lewis; three (3) sisters: Heloise Howard, Audrey (Sylvester) Ray, Vera Lewis; three (3) step-sons: Clifton (Cecelia) Williams, Jr., Eldridge (Julester) Williams, Jerome (Geraldine) Williams; two (2) step-daughters: Lizzie Mae (Joseph) Sigur, Florence Williams, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Joyce is reunited in glory with her husband: Clifton Williams, Sr.; her parents: James Lewis and Amanda Gray Lewis, her son: Sheldon LaMark, Sr.; her three (3) brothers: James Lewis, Jr., Clifford Lewis, and Earl Lewis; her sister: Shirley Lewis; her maternal grandparents: Henry and Eliza Brown Gray; her paternal grandmother: Francis Butler, and her two (2) step-daughters: Helen Williams and Elnora Williams.
