Jeanerette, LA- Funeral Services for Ms. Mary Melancon, 91, who passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, will be Friday, November 14, 2025 at 11:00M AM at the Fields Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM until the time of service

Mary Melancon was known for her joyful spirit and bubbly personality. She loved singing and dressing up, always carrying herself with beauty, grace, and a radiant smile that could brighten any room. Her soft, squeaky voice was unforgettable. It was a sound of warmth and kindness that lingered in the hearts of those who knew her. She often encouraged others with her favorite words, “Keep your head high, sugar”.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory: her son; Durrell Ray Melancon; 1 granddaughter; Amber Lynn Melancon Coronel Escudero: 3 great-grandchildren; Marley Rouse Coronel, Melody Raven Coronel Escudero, and Javier Enrique Coronel Escudero: and her beloved cousins; Grace Hogan Thomas, Audrey Hogan, and Monica Lockett Lively.

She is preceded in death by her loved ones; Mary Hogan, Clarence Hogan, Samuel Hogan, Leo Hogan, Rev. Fred Hogan, Ella Hogan, and Claude Peter Melancon.
