New Iberia, LA- Melissa Williams, 63,  passed away on June 25, 2025 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA. at 11:23 AM surrounded by family and friends. Her services will be Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Notre Dame Catholic Church- 201 Gary St, Saint Martinville, LA. Service will begin at 1:00 PM.

Melissa Williams, born on December 9, 1961, in Lafayette, Louisiana, left this world on June 25, 2025. Known for her immense love as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Melissa’s legacy will forever resonate in the hearts of her family and friends.

Throughout her life, Melissa found great joy in nurturing those around her. She was deeply dedicated to planting and taking care of her children and grandchildren, instilling values of love and family that will be carried on through generations. Her family shines bright with love for her: her devoted spouse, Anthony Williams; her cherished children, Chasity Williams, Dwayne Williams, and Kathisha Wiltz; her beloved grandchildren, Alissa Williams, Alissya Williams, Makrien Williams, Makavin Williams, Trevone Wiltz, Nya Charles, and K'Trel Charles; and her great-grandchildren, Jalee Pushia, Kahil Williams, Zyaire Williams, and Kaylon Saengsomphou.

Melissa had a vivacious spirit and a zest for life that included her love for bingo, shopping, and visiting the casino. She found joy in cooking, often creating meals that brought everyone together. Her warmth and laughter filled every room she entered, and her generous heart made her not only a pillar of her family but also a friend to many.

She was predeceased by her mother, Leona Pierre; her father, Nick Wiltz; her brother, Darrius Benjamin; her grandson, Ma'Kaylon Simon; and her beloved grandparents, Harry Pierre and Anita Jaquet. The loss of these family members weighed heavily on Melissa, yet she found strength through the love of her living family.

A Mass in her honor will be held at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, Louisiana, on June 28, 2025, commencing at 1:00 PM. The service will serve as a celebration of her rich life and the enduring love she shared with everyone lucky enough to know her.

Melissa Williams will be remembered for her boundless affection, her strength as a matriarch, and the unforgettable impact she had on her family and community. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to flourish through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
