Rachel Monique Segura, born in Lafayette on September 26, 1979, left us so soon on March 13, 2024, in Lafayette. She was a loving soul who adored everyone and held a deep care for her family. Rachel's presence brought light and warmth to those around her, leaving an indelible mark on hearts of many.
Rachel's departure has left a void in the lives of her surviving family and friends. She is remembered fondly by her mother, Linda Cage Romero, and her stepmother Cynthia Swilley Segura. Rachel will be dearly missed by her son Ryker James Segura and daughters Hadlea Monique Bourque, Harlee Marie Bourque, Haven Renee' Bourque, and Harmoni Lyn Segura.
In addition to her children, Rachel is survived by her brother David Segura, Jr., stepbrother Hervin (Phyllis) John Romero, Jr., sisters Amy Segura, Courtney (Kim) Segura-Ransonet, Kathe Kent (Shawn) Olmstead, Melanie (Lee) Migues Lambert, Jennifer Denise Migues, Marcie Lynn Schmidt, and Honor Romero Stegall; and one of her grandchildren in whom she was able to meet before her passing Jy'Kell Bourque.
Rachel was preceded in death by her father, David Allen Segura, Sr., her niece Emma Lynn Lambert, and her brother in law Larry D. Stegall; maternal grandparents Nora Gaudet Cage and George Edward Cage; paternal grandparents William Carson Segura, Sr. and Louella Maraist Segura, and her stepfather Hervin John Romero, Sr..
Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating Rachel's life at Fields Funeral Home in New Iberia. A visitation will be held on March 22 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM to honor and remember the beautiful life she lived.
Rachel Monique Segura's departure has left a void that mere words cannot fill. Her love for family and friends will forever remain in our hearts as we hold onto cherished memories of the times we shared with her. May she rest in peace knowing she was loved beyond measure.
