New Iberia, LA- Funeral services for Ruby Mae Welcome- Robertson, 79, will be Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 2:00PM at the Fields Funeral Home- 712 Center Street; New Iberia, LA 70560. A visitation will begin at 1:00PM at the Fields Funeral Home.

A life well lived, Ruby "Mae" Welcome- Robertson was born on May 7, 1946. God, in His infinite wisdom, called His servant home on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at her residence at 1:46 AM. . She was a resident of New Iberia, LA. and lived a life that was engulfed in love, laughter, and faith.

Ruby leaves a legacy of love to her three (3) brothers: Paul (Kitty Ann) Andrews, Herbert Welcome, and Gerald Welcome; A cousin she reared as a brother: Forest Antoine; two (2) sisters: Shirley George and Betty (Joseph) St. Julian; two (2) God-daughters: Lisa Henry and Chantel Foster; a friend she reared as a daughter: Debbie Washington-Lively; two (2) nephews she reared as her sons: Ernest Cormier, Jr. and Terry George; her niece, who was also her caregiver, Esseny Welcome: six (6) grandchildren: Kenneth Anthony, Jr., Jermaine Anthony, Broderick Anthony, Jamarcus Dennis, Kentrell Robertson, and April Robertson; twenty (20) great-grandchildren; her dog, which was her heart, Butter; a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband: Earl Robertson; her two (2) sons: Kenneth Lee Robertson, Sr. and Dwayne Robertson; her daughter in law: Debra Vilcan Robertson; her mother: Gladys Welcome; one (1) sister: Ethel Lynn Welcome; her two (2) brothers: Dallas Welcome and Ernest Welcome, Sr; and two (2) grandchildren.
