New Iberia, LA - A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Berdie Bowser, 69, who transitioned peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at 10:00PM at her residence will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 11:00AM. A visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of service. Services will be held at Fields Funeral Home, 712 Center Street, New Iberia, LA 70560, Prophet Jonathan Richardson, Officiating.

She will await the resurrection at Rose Hill Cemetery, 944 W Main St, New Iberia, La 70560.

LIFE LEGACY

I was born to Arthur Moore SR and Gertie Webster Moore on March 10, 1955, in new Iberia la. I was the fourth sibling proceeded in death by my dad Arthur Moore SR, mother Gertie webster Moore, sister truly mae Lewi Charles, nephews troy “sleepy” Lewis, Dominique “boosie” Lewis, Dante “fatty” Lewis, niece Nicole Charles, stepson Deonrick bowser, best friend Carolyn Kately all who I now join in eternity .

I graduated from New Iberia Senior High School in 1974. I worked at Consolata Nursing home for 15 years. Which I had some wonderful fun, exciting memories and met some wonderful friends there before I had to retire due to my illness. I help the “Theriot family for many years also. I had the privilege of being baptized around about 2015 in Jesus Name by Prophet/ Pastor Shawn Sabine of Baton Rouge LA.

My hobbies were sitting outside, cooking and feeding everyone, shopping at Walmart and Super one, talking on the phone, playing cards with my husband Dana, David, and my sister Madea. Clowning with Little John who was by boy an always made me feel better.

MY NICKNAMES: AKA “Darla Montgomery news lady”; My nephew David called me “BIGTIMER”; Great nephew KHI called me “wee-wee”; My best friend husband David Smith called me “wee”

My life was fulfilling, and I lived every moment right until the end where I met Jesus’ face to face. Having done my best and live as a Christian ought to I fought a good fight as long as I could and leave cherished memories to my husband Dana Kevin Bowser SR of 27 years that resides in New Iberia LA, daughter Jovon Walker – McGee and Son-n- law Henry N McGee II of Houston TX, and their children Nicholas Moses of Houston TX, Lydia McGee residing in Troy New York, Israel McGee residing in Los Angeles, California, and son Donald Walker JR resides in New Iberia LA and his daughter Donaree “tutu” Gorrell residing in Port Arthur Tx, Stepson Kevin Dana Bowser JR & wife and all his kids.

She also loved dearly her great-great niece Debricka Lewis children, Malia-M&M, Makhi- Khi, Miracle-mimi and Major-major payne who was at my house almost every day loving on me and playing outside while I laugh and laugh.

Her heart “Tiger” Bowser her dog of 13yrs. Also leave cherished memories to her living Sister Bessie Mitchell and Brother Arthur Moore Jr of New Iberia LA who I will miss very dearly and had loved with all my heart. BIG hug and kiss to my lil brother “BRO” for taking good care of me. I love you guys.

I love and leave behind a host of niece’s great nieces and great nephews and nephews all the way until 4 generations down.
