New Iberia - A Mass for Bobby James Bouton, 65, will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 11AM at Fields Funeral Home Chapel. Father Randy Courville will officiate.

Visitation will begin at 9AM until the time of service and continue until 3PM at Fields Funeral Home, 712 Center Street, New Iberia, La. 70560.

Bobby James Bouton, a beloved member of the New Iberia community, passed away on December 18, 2023, at Iberia Medical Center at 3:22PM. Despite battling illness, Bobby always managed to keep a smile on the faces of his loved ones. Known for his infectious laughter and quick wit, he was an avid jokester and comedian who could light up any room he walked into.

Born on March 12, 1958, in New Iberia, Louisiana, Bobby lived a fulfilling life filled with love,, and treasured memories. He graduated from New Iberia Senior High School as part of the Class of 1976, where he formed lifelong friendships and made lasting connections with his fellow classmates. Bobby's career took him to the Oil Field industry, where he worked as a fitter and production operator. His dedication and passion for his work were commendable, earning him the respect of colleagues and industry professionals alike. Bobby's hard work ethic and attention to detail were evident in everything he did. Outside of work, Bobby cherished his time spent engaging in his favorite hobbies. Hunting and fishing were two activities that brought him immense joy and allowed him to connect with nature. He was also an avid sports fan who followed the New Orleans Saints and the LSU Tigers with unwavering enthusiasm.

Family meant everything to Bobby. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and JoyRita Bouton, as well as his sister Patricia Barras along with his paternal and maternal grandparents. Although their physical presence may be missed deeply, their memories will forever live on in Bobby's heart.

Bobby is survived by three loving sisters: Dona Waldmann (Hank), Tina Chaisson (Jeffery), Angela Borel (Michael), as well as two brothers: Billy Bouton and Kevin Bouton (Terri). His Aunt "Poochie" held a special place in his heart, and he considered Mark Romero and Dirk Romero as brothers. Bobby's zest for life extended to his eight nieces and nephews, who he cherished dearly.

Bobby James Bouton will forever be remembered as a beacon of joy and laughter. His ability to find humor in any situation brought light into the lives of those around him. Though his absence leaves a void in our hearts, we find solace in knowing that he is now in a better place. Let us remember him for his contagious laughter, his unwavering spirit, and the love he shared with all those fortunate enough to know him. Bobby's legacy will live on through the memories we carry with us and the joy he brought into our lives.

As we say goodbye to Bobby James Bouton, let us remember him not with sorrow but with gratitude for having had the privilege of knowing such an incredible individual. His spirit will forever remain alive within us all. Rest in peace, dear friend.
