Emile Paul Davis, Sr.
New Iberia, LA - Emile Paul Davis, Sr., beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2024, at Camelot at Magnolia Estates. He was born on November 8, 1946, in New Iberia, LA to Joseph Davis and Lizzie Antoine Davis. Emile was known for his hardworking nature and his unwavering dedication to his family.
Emile had a passion for farming and was a skilled self-employed mechanic. He took pride in his work and always strived for excellence. In his free time, Emile enjoyed watching western movies and dancing. He had an adventurous spirit and loved the excitement of horse track racing.
Emile will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father Joseph Davis and mother Lizzie Antoine Davis; two sons, Emile Davis Jr. and Paul Bradley Davis; his sister Barbara Ann Davis; his granddaughter Lemeire Ledet; step-son Rusty Allen; and former-wife Gladys Bonnet Davis; and his paternal grandparents Howard Davis and Anna Davis, maternal grandparents Essie Antoine and Mable B. Antoine.
Emile will be fondly remembered during visitation services on February 17th from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Fields Funeral Home located at 712 Center Street in New Iberia. A prayer service will follow from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the same location. The funeral service will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church on February 17th at 11:00 AM located at 175 Ambassador W Lemell Dr in New Iberia. Emile will be laid to rest during a burial service at All Saints Cemetery on February 17th at 12:00 PM located at 9502 Harold Landry Rd in New Iberia.
Emile's memory lives on through his surviving family and friends. He is survived by his significant other, Sleva Allen, who stood by his side throughout his journey. Emile leaves behind his sons: William Joseph Davis (Lucille) of Lafayette, LA and O'Neil Davis of St. Martinville, LA. He also leaves behind two step-sons, Tony Allen and Carlos Allen.
His legacy continues through his daughters: Lizzie Ledet (Grant) of New Iberia, LA, Lillie Landry (Bryant) of New Iberia, LA, Angela Nora (Thomas) of New Iberia, LA, and step-daughter Kimberly Herbert of New Iberia, LA.
Emile is also survived by his brothers: Rickey Davis (Jennifer) of Lafayette, LA and Felton Comeaux (Tina) of Baytown, Texas; and sister Debra Davis of New Iberia, LA. Emile will be deeply missed by a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Emile Paul Davis Sr. led a remarkable life filled with love and devotion for his family. His hardworking nature, adventurous spirit, and kind heart touched the lives of many. May he rest in eternal peace knowing that his memory will forever be treasured by all who knew him.
