New Orleans, LA -A Homegoing Celebration for Jaz Christopher Gentris, 9, will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 11AM at Second Bethlehem Baptist Church - 3016 College Court, New Orleans La. , Pastor Duane Gidney, Officiant.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 10AM at Second Bethlehem Baptist Church until the time of service.

His earthly remains will be laid to rest at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA 70001.

 

Jaz Christopher Gentris, age 9, entered eternal rest peacefully on August 24th, 2023. He was born on July 29, 2014 to
Erica Chavell Williams and Eric Christopher Gentris Jr.

Jaz, affectionately called, "TuTu" was a fun, loving ,bright and SWEET BOY who lit up any room that he walked in. With his INFECTIOUS smile, zest for life and love of music you couldn’t help, but be drawn to him; He Was a Vibe!!!

 Jaz attended the First Line Charter Community School’s Phillis Wheatley & and Langston Hughes in New Orleans.

His family, friends, and teachers would tell you that Jaz was one of a kind. His achievements and awards including Perfect Attendance and "The Most Social" Social Time Award. That award fit him perfectly because he loved everyone.

He is preceded in death by Great Grandfathers JB Dillon and Walter Richardson; and Great Grandmother Stella Mae Richardson.


He leaves to cherish his beautiful memories his Mother Erica Chavell Williams, Father Eric Christopher Gentris Jr. Great Grandmother Earley Mae Dillon, Grandmothers Barbara Honeycutt and Carolyn Richardson Banks; Aunt Cassandra Williams, Uncle Kevin Banks  Jr.; Brother Sage Malone Sims, Sister Baby Kambry Laye Davis, and Godmothers Nia Hoffman (NANNY BABY) and Sarah Carter.

Also cherishing his memories are a host of beloved friends and family & school staff who just adored him.
