Jerry V. Lewis, a beloved father, cherished friend, and valued member of the community, passed away on January 1, 2024.

Born on August 12, 1960, Jerry was a man who lived life with passion and purpose. He touched the lives of many through his various roles as a security guard, a dedicated employee for the city of Iberia, and his work at the Sugar Mill. Jerry's commitment to his work was evident in the dedication and professionalism he displayed every day.

Jerry's educational journey included earning his GED, showcasing his determination to overcome obstacles and continually strive for personal growth. His thirst for knowledge was an inspiration to all who knew him.

While Jerry excelled professionally, it was his role as a father where he found his true calling. Jerry's true joy came from being a father. His children were the center of his world, and he dedicated himself to providing them with love and support throughout their lives. Jerry's son, Jerry V. Lewis Jr.(Melissa), and daughter, Valarie Lewis (John) of Scott, LA, had the privilege of having him as their father. Furthermore, he embraced Tia Locks as a bonus daughter, Earl Locks as a bonus son, and developed a special father-like relationship with Makenzie Daniels. He loved being a father more than anything in the world and poured all his love and devotion into raising his children. 

In addition to his children, Jerry leaves behind a legacy of love and memories shared with a vast network of family and friends. He will be forever remembered by Louvenia L Antoine, his beloved mother from Jeanerette, LA; the late Henry Davis Jr.His father from Jeanerette, LA.

In addition to his immediate family members, Jerry is survived by numerous siblings and family members who will hold onto the treasured memories they shared with him. His sisters Cynthie Davis Stephens(Kevin) of Columbus, GA, Anne Lewis(Anthony) Of Lafayette,LA, Evelyn Lewis of New Iberia,LA, and Faye Antoine (Albert) of Scott,LA. His Aunts Cora Wesley, Lee Anna Lewis, Mary McGee(Joe) of Jeanerette,LA, and Alice Roberts(Stanley) of New Iberia,LA.His uncles Corneibus Lewis Jr. of Franklin, LA, Frank Lewis (Gustine) of Jeanerette,LA, Willie Lewis (allison) of New Iberia,LA; treasured Godchildren Michael P. Lewis of Fort Worth,TX,and Jules Dauphine of Jeanerette, LA.11 grandchildren,4 great grandchildren,and a host of nieces and nephews will forever cherish the impact he made on their lives.

He is preceded in death by his step-father Sidney Crester Antoine,step-brother Albert Anotoine Sr.,ex-father-in-law Curley Gilliams Jr., nephew Trevalon Antione Sr., two great grandchildren, and a host of aunts and uncles.

Jerry will be remembered as a selfless individual who always put the needs of others before his own. He was a friend who could always be relied upon for support and guidance. Jerry's warm smile and genuine kindness brought light into the lives of those around him.

In addition to his numerous accomplishments in the workforce and his unforgettable impact on friends and family, Jerry served in the National Guard with honor.

As we mourn the loss of an extraordinary soul, let us celebrate Jerry V. Lewis' life and the profound impact he had on all our lives. His unconditional love and unwavering dedication to family and friends will continue to inspire us for generations to come.

Jerry may no longer be present in our lives physically, but his spirit will forever live on in our hearts. Let us carry forward his legacy by embracing the values he held dear: love, compassion, and a relentless pursuit of making this world a better place.
