L D McDaniel, a dedicated individual who worked in the oil field for over 40 years, passed away on May 24, 2024 in New Iberia surrounded by family at his residence. Born on September 24, 1947, in Oakdale, LA., L D McDaniel lived a fulfilling life enriched with various experiences and connections that he cherished deeply.

Having served his country as a Vietnam veteran, L D McDaniel demonstrated courage and commitment both in his military service and throughout his life. Beyond his professional endeavors, he found joy in simple pleasures such as fishing and spending quality time with his beloved family.

L D McDaniel leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will be carried on by those who survive him. He was preceded in death by his wife Audrey McDaniel and his parents Leo and Adley McDaniel, as well as his sister Tracey Doucet and great-grandson Henry. Among the surviving family members are his sons Gerry McDaniel, Lee "Eddie" McDaniel and his wife Shantelle, and Robert "Brad" and his wife Suzi McDaniel; his daughter Sherryl and her husband Preston Gary; sister Lilly Baugard; and grandchildren John Claggett, Mersaides McDaniel, Cassidy McDaniel, Miranda Gary, Daniel Gary, Kimberly McDaniel, Mandea Roberts, Joel McDaniel, and Gavin McDaniel - each holding a special place in his heart.

The memory of L D McDaniel will forever remain etched in the hearts of all who knew him. His dedication to his work, service to his country, and love for his family leave an indelible mark on those whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace knowing that he was loved and will be dearly missed.
