New Iberia

Rodney Paul Jacquet, a beloved son, brother, uncle, husband, and friend, passed away on January 11, 2024. He was born on October 29, 1961 at Lafayette Charity Hospital to his parents Clement Jacquet, Jr. and Gloria Decuir Jacquet who precede him in death. Rodney's life was one filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments shared with his family and friends.

Growing up in New Iberia, Louisiana, Rodney had deep roots in his community. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Clement Jacquet, Sr. and Lillian Johson Jacquet, as well as his paternal grandparents Elenor Jean Batiste Decuir and Felix Decuir. Rodney held a special place in his heart for his sister Laura Mae Vallot, his brother Larry Jacquet, and his nephew Lawless Trevor Jacquet.

His smile could light up a room and his presence brought comfort to those who needed it most. Rodney's dedication to his loved ones knew no bounds.

In 2012, Rodney found the love of his life when he married Wesella Tines. Rodney embraced the role of stepfather to Jerome Isaiah Tines with open arms, treating him as if he were his own son.

Rodney's family held a special place in his heart. He maintained close relationships his brother Carl Joseph Jacquet, sisters Cynthia Jacquet, Sylvia Jacquet (Jonathan), Vanessa Phillips (Alfred), Carol Arceneaux, Troy Jacquet; nephews Larry Vallot Jr., Glen Broussard Jr., Lewald "Lance" Vallot Sr. (Arteisha), Brent Jacquet, Dontorick Jacquet, Khristian Jones and Garius Arceneaux; nieces Marla Jacquet Austin (Marcus), Keisha Perro, Markeisha Jacquet, Cyntrelle Allen, and Garielle Jacquet. The love between them was everlasting and filled with countless memories.
