Sandy Marie Charles

Celebration of Life will be held at Fields Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, November 25, 2022, at 3:00 P.M.  Reverend T.J. Andrus of Greater New Hope Baptist Church will deliver the eulogy.

On the afternoon of Saturday, November 5, 2022, while surrounded by her loving sons, God came to take one of his precious angels Sandy Marie Charles home to rest in her Heavenly home. Sandy was a native and residence of Lafayette, Louisiana. On November 11, 1967, God blessed Mary Lee Savoy and Calvin Sonnier with a beautiful baby girl, whom they named Sandy Marie.

Being nurtured in a Christian home, Sandy had a personal relationship with the Lord and she trusted him with everything.  She was baptized at Spirit of Liberty in Lafayette.

Sandy loved spending time with her grandkids she would get so excited being around them. She was one person who never met a stranger, if you needed to eat or a place to lay your head, you could always count on Sandy to be there for you as a place of refuge. 

Sandy leaves behind so many wonderful memories to her sons; Justin Joseph Charles of Arnaudville, Louisiana, Enishael Ray Charles of Lafayette, Louisiana, her twins Travon Omar Charles, Kavon Lamar Charles both of Lafayette, Louisiana, Rahime Roland Charles of Lafayette, Louisiana and Javontae Sonnier of Lafayette, Louisiana, Her Daughters; Shantanal Charles of Carencro, Louisiana Deriah Ashanti Charles of Lafayette, Louisiana along with the apples of of her eyes her Grandkids, Jakylen Charles , Karson Gallow , Royalty Charles , Ryleigh Charles , Rylee Shaw. 

She will forever be missed by her first best friends, two of her siblings, Jasper James Charles & Ronald James Charles both of Opelousas, Louisiana; Her Godchildren, LaKeisha Savoie of Opelousas, Louisiana and Camron Savoy of Lafayette along with two very close friends who were more like sisters, Ms Cheryl Monroe and Ms Margaret Milton. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and those whose lives she’s impacted. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Lee Savoy and Calvin Sonnier, three siblings, Louanna Marie Charles, Joseph Lee and Joseph Alfred Charles, all accompanying her as they are now resting in the arms of our Lord & Savior.
