Christopher Ray Willis, known by his affectionate nickname "Monkey Chris," was called home to be with the Lord unexpectedly at his residence in New Iberia, Louisiana on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 8:57PM. Born on February 3, 1971, in his beloved hometown, Chris was a true jack of all trades throughout Iberia Parish. His diverse skills as an electrician, welder, mechanic, carpenter, cook, and inventor were only a few of the many hats he wore with expertise and passion.

Above all else, Chris cherished his role as a loving father to his son Christopher D. Willis. Music fueled him, and he found solace and inspiration by riding through town on his beloved trike while blaring music from his signature car radio that he installed himself!

Chris's talent for fixing and building bikes brought him immense pride. He poured his heart into crafting and sharing his mastery with friends and loved ones who marveled at the details and uniqueness displayed in each creation. His bikes were not just modes of transportation; they were works of art that spoke volumes about his dedication and craftsmanship.

Chris's memory will forever live on through those who knew him intimately. He joins the ranks of beloved family members who have gone before him—the late Uyless Willis and Annie Mae Willis (parents); the late Elisha Williams, Sr., and Elsie Hill Williams (maternal grandparents); and the late Theopholis Willis and Lydia Francis Willis (paternal grandparents). Their spirits will continue to guide and protect Chris's surviving loved ones during this time of grief and remembrance.

In addition to his cherished son Christopher D. Willis, Chris leaves behind his brothers Patrick Willis (Sophie) of San Antonio, TX, Paul Willis (Trisha) of Chicago, IL, John Dixon Willis of New Iberia, LA, and his sister Vergie Ann Williams of New Iberia, LA. Together, they will draw strength from one another as they navigate the uncharted path laid before them.

Christopher Ray Willis's departure leaves an great void in the hearts of all who knew him. His undeniable talent and unwavering passion were the building blocks of a life that will always be remembered. As we bid farewell to this B-town Legend, let us remember him not with sadness but with gratitude for the unique imprint he left on our lives. May his memory be a source of inspiration, and may his spirit find eternal peace in the arms of those who came before him.
