Four Corners, LA - A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 10 AM at Macedonia Baptist Church in Ashton, LA for Mrs. Gloria Mae Gibson, "Glo". Visitation will be held at 9 AM until the time of service. Mrs. Gloria was 91 years old.  

Viewing will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 5 PM until 7 PM at Fields Funeral Home, 712 Center Street, New Iberia, La.

A lifelong resident of Four Corners, La., Mrs. Gloria traded in her earthy garments for her heavenly reward on Friday, June 9, 2023, at 2:41 PM surrounded by her family.

Gloria Mae Gibson was born on Saturday, April 16, 1932, in Four Corners, La to the union of Gustavia “Mama Gussie” Jackson and Charlie Gibson, Sr. She spent nearly the entirety of her earthly life in Four Corners. 

Along with her mother, she owned and operated Gussie’s Café for 37 years. 

She is survived by her twin sons: Barron Keith Davison of Four Corners, La and Barry Neal Davison of Baton Rouge, La.; two step sons: Greg Davison of Baton Rouge, La. and Shawn Davison of Lydia, La.; one step-daughter: Gena Davison of Lydia, La.; one son-in-law: Larence Herbert Brown, Jr. of Broken Arrow, OK; four grandchildren: Barron L. Davison (Lawanda), Loren R. Brown, Loriel N. Brown all of Broken Arrow, OK and Larissa L. Brown of Thailand; six great-grandchildren: Paris J. Jackson of New Iberia, La, Kaibre T. Harris, Kaden D. Brewer, Barron L Davison, Jr. and Braylon L. Davison all of Broken Arrow, OK and Cameron Clark of Patterson, La.; six siblings: Genevive Gibson Newman,of O’fallon MO, Jessie Lee Gibson (Melvina) of Houston, Tx, Beverly Gibson Hill (Dr. Willie) of Amherst, MA, Charlie Gibson, Jr. of Belleville, IL, Ray Gibson (Jackie) of Spring, Tx., and Orson Gibson (Carla) of Youngsville, La.; one niece: Michelle “Mimi” Olivier; one great-nephew: Anthony Okoro of Houston, Tx., and two god-children: Renaldo Hall and Patricia Roschun.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gustavia “Mama Gussie” Jackson and Charlie Gibson, Sr., her daughter, Yolanda M. Davison Brown, granddaughters Porscha Jackson and Kristen Davison, siblings Adele Gibson Briscoe and Nothern Gibson,Sr. and a beloved cousin, Zader L. Conner Gordon.
